Debbie Covin Obituary

Debbie Covin was born on October 8, 1954, to the late Mary Covin and JC Covin of Irvington, NJ. Debbie was born in Lee County, GA and later moved to Newark, NJ in 1961 where she attended the Newark’s Public School system. She ran track and graduated from Barringer High School where she earned a full scholarship. She then graduated from The University School of Dentistry and became a Dental Hygienist and then later became a Teacher’s Aide. Debbie accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Overcome Baptist Church and True Vine Missionary where she served on the Usher Board. Debbie was a Girl Scout Leader for over 30 years. She led many girls to receive the Gold Award with honors while taking them on many adventures. They visited The White House in Washington D.C., Disney World in Orlando, Florida, Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada, overnight camping trips at Kings Dominion in Virginia, sleepovers and shows at NJPAC in Newark, NJ and many other camping excursions. She put her time and energy into everything she was a part of. She was always looking out for everyone, if you needed her, she was there. Debbie loved her family, and she moves on to join her mother Mary Covin, father JC Covin, brother Johnnie Covin, son Terron Covin, and grandson Jihad Anderson-Covin. Debbie leaves behind her son Tyrone Covin (Tut), daughter Andrea Covin (Ricky), two god daughters Zina Mingo, Renee Jones-Wilson, ten grandchildren Rabiah Dunlap, Ahnyah Clemons, Kaseemah Williams, Tahir Covin, Isyss Covin, Myla Covin, Tarriyah Covin, Kelsi Covin, Rickele and Rickiah CovinHammond, six great grandchildren Aubrey, Sura, Heaven, T'Kyla, Harmony and Azhuri, sisters Diane (Nate), and Patricia (Sam), two brothers Melvin and Marvin Covin (Candice), Sisterin- law Linda Covin and a host of other relatives and friends.
